A very happy new year to all Bondiya customers, blog readers, suppliers and (former)staff. Thank you for making 2011 a successful year for us and we hope to see you again in 2012. 2011 was a quite a good year for Bondiya. We had our first holiday, 1 year anniversary, December,etc,etc and many great memories with all of our customers. I just recover from a little cold and lack of sleep. I guess December was quite crazy, but fun.

It finally cooled down a bit. Those hot, humid days are getting less frequent and it is actually a bit cold tonight. Fall has started. There was this big typhoon a few days ago with loads of rain and we had a little flooding at Bondiya again, but not too serious. With the summer behind us, we are getting ready for a new season with new things at Bondiya. A special wine weekend is coming up, a few new dishes on the menu and October will have a new lunch menu again. Also, we are slowly starting to think about Christmas, bonenkais and osechi. We are building up to the end of the year.
If you are planning an end of the year party or just a party with your friends or collegues, think about Bondiya. We have very interesting private parties for bigger groups on good value. Menus start from 2000 yen (15 people or more), 2500, 3000, 3500,etc, and all you can drink offers as well. Please contact us for reservations, inquiries or availability.
Osechi will be another big thing for us. Every year we sell these new years boxes for 13.500 yen. They are stuffed with all kinds of Bondiya favorites accompanied by a baquette and optional Bondiya wine.

Its 2011. Everybody a healthy and delicious new year.

Just to have one last glance back to last year, 2010 was a year with a lot of changes for us. After 8 years of teaching English we finally found a decent location to start my long time dream, a restaurant. We found this place in March last year and when we decided to start Bondiya here, things started to go really fast and from that moment on we havent had much free time. We opened on June 5th with a staggering number of 56 eating guests. Soon after that the Worldcup football started and Holland did fantastic (we ended up number 2 in the world). Summer came and went. In fall we had our first big parties at Bondiya and we slowly started to build up towards December with Christmas, the Christmas chicken, Osechi, bonenkai, etc. And now it is January first. Yes, 2010 was a great year and we would like to thank all our guests, friends, family, staff and suppliers for everything and hopefully we will see you again soon in Bondiya.

Note: We are closed from Jan 3rd until Jan 12th for a short vacation to spend some time with our kids and sleep. So we would like to welcome you again from Thursday the 13th of January.

Yes, the holiday season has started again. Last wednesday was our last day off and we are open straight until January the third. Yes, busy days but enjoying it a lot. We just had 2 great bonenkai parties last weekend. Check out the pics in the previous posts. Organizing all the shopping and ordering for the xmas chicken, xmas menu, osechi and the normal menu requires a lot of time and planning, but thats what cooking all about. Planning. That`s what I missed the most all these years, the exciting stress, (not the bad stress). Slowly the restaurant fills up with people, little by little the voices are getting louder and order tickets come in and suddenly there is this kind of panic and Eriko and I are running our #%s off. Yes, I like December. It`s the most wonderful busy time of the year.
